Kwa Mukonza self help group have been supported by Excellent Development since 2004. The sand dams they have built have recharged two local wells that had run dry. They have also established a seed bank and a demonstration farm (photo, left).
Traditional water source
Kangemi is one of the driest areas we work in. Sand dams have helped to transform this area by creating a year-round source of clean water.
 

 
Esther Musyimi is one of the original members of the Utooni Development Project, the inspiration for Excellent Development. Read about how she has improved life for herself and her grandchildren through building sand dams and planting trees.
