During the week you will learn more about Excellent’s approach to development through visits to the farming communities we support and the projects they are involved in. You will stay at the headquaters of our local partner, The Africa Sand Dam Foundation, and also get to help a community to build a sand dam. Around 100 people from the local community will come together to help with the construction. There are jobs to suit all abilities: mixing cement, collecting rocks and water, or joining in the singing and dancing while cement and stones are passed in a chain to the dam.
Above all, this is a chance for you to make a difference. Words cannot describe the welcome you will get from the local community and how much fun the hard work is! This is your chance to be part of something very special and come back re-energised and inspired.
Registration is £250 per person. This covers the cost of food, board, local guides and expedition transport. In addition, we ask participants to raise a minimum donation of £500 towards Excellent's work in Kenya.
Places are limited so register now to avoid disappointment.
Registration Deadline is 22nd June 2012
“It was a truly amazing experience – a unique and inspiring insight into the lives of people who are determined to solve their own problems and build a better future for their children. We were given an incredible welcome, and the friendship and hospitality we encountered was, at times, overwhelming.”
Simon Witney, March 2010
