Building sand dams: Excellent Development's teaching resources contain real-life case studies illustrating grassroots development in rural, dryland Kenya.
Excellent Development's teaching resources bring global issues into the classroom by raising awareness of environmental conservation and rural development in Kenya.
Our resources focus in particular on the crucial role of community self-help, environmental conservation and sustainable agriculture for overcoming the challenges faced by people in rural drylands.
The packs contain real-life case studies illustrating grassroots development in dryland Kenya, as well as lesson plans covering topical issues such as water availability, food security and sustainable land management.
We have developed two sets of high quality resources, which are appropriate for either primary schools, or secondary and undergraduate learning.
Excellent Development provides a valuable example of how sustainability in semi-arid Africa can be addressed in a manner that really benefits people and the environment. I'm delighted to utilise film footage and focused curicula case studies of their excellent work.
