Offsetting Carbon Emissions
Brand consultancy Scamper Branding chose to support Excellent Developments work on planting protected forests of endangered, medicinal and rare trees to compensate for the carbon emissions their business cannot avoid.
 
Scamper tries to be a low energy user wherever possible. But even so there are activities which make their carbon emissions add up. So we worked with them to help the team offset their occasional business travel to meetings and the energy consumed to run their computers.
 
“Scamper has always strived to be a green business, both by working to help other green organisations succeed, and by operating our own business responsibly. We offset our energy consumption for things we cannot avoid like computer use and business travel. Last year we offset our emissions with Climate Care, but this year we felt that we would rather work with a less commercial organisation. So for 2009, we are offsetting just over 5 tonnes of carbon dioxide with Excellent Development, who use climate protection projects to aid social development in parts of Africa, which we think is truly excellent”.
