Where we work
Since 2002, we have supported 105 communities to build 360 Sand Dams in sub-Saharan Africa.
40% of the Earth's surface is classed as drylands. Sand Dams are applicable to all dryland regions with seasonal sandy rivers.
Since 2002 we've supported 111 communities build 363 Sand Dams in Kenya, Zimbabwe, Mozambique and Uganda. But the principles behind our work in sub-Saharan Africa can be applied to any dryland community, be it in India or South America.
Our ambition is to build on our success in Africa and start a Sand Dam revolution around the world.
